Our history, our values
At La Dolce Vegan® we take good food seriously.
We believe that the day should start and end with the standard of quality and taste that Italians expect from their food, and this should not come at the expense of the health of our planet.
La Dolce Vegan® was born in a converted greenhouse in Florence, Italy and created to respond to the gap in the market with a line of plant-based bakery products that everyone can enjoy.
We are proud to produce our products in Italy, where some of the best ingredients on the planet come from, and we prioritize the use of local and sustainable, raw materials to do so.
Our 100% plant-based products are made using primarily locally sourced ingredients. From chocolatiers to almond farmers, we work with generations-owned makers to bring you the freshest and most high quality products without compromise.
Our commitment
Consideration for the well-being of people and the planet are fundamental to our company: we want this to be reflected in our partnerships, production, processes, packaging and shipping.
There are various aspects to achieving this effectively and comprehensively. We want to learn and improve as we move forward, continuously maintaining our commitment.
We believe that it is easier to achieve these goals together. We welcome constructive feedback from industry experts and innovators who would like to help us pursue our mission as a responsible company.
All our products are made with plant-based ingredients predominantly sourced from local producers that follow careful ecological processes.
Our manufacturing partners share our commitment to implementing efficient protocols that minimize the use of electricity, water, waste, and fossil fuels.
In choosing the packaging for our products, we seek to combine the need to maintain shelf life and to transport and deliver our products safely.
Whenever possible, we package our products using sustainable packaging. Carefully evaluating – and choosing – the right materials is essential because not doing so can contribute to food waste and worsen the negative impact of production on the environment.
Transporting raw materials from local farms and suppliers to our production partners, distributors and ultimately to your home, is important to our environmental impact. There are many factors involved in this process, and unfortunately we cannot control or influence all of them directly.
What we can do, however, is commit to being as efficient as possible. For example, by finding partners with whom to share full truck loads when necessary.
